Arrgg!
I really hate that my first post in my new group (
) is going to be me complaining about something, but damn am I pissed!
So... as many of ya'll know. my boyfriend Mick is in Oklahoma for the summer (boo). My b-day was on the 9th & his was on the 12th so he flew home for a few days so we could hang out. I had no idea what to get him then I stumbled on this!

My man is a tattoo freak (he has 18 now) and what better than a Sailor Jerry hoodie? (Sailor Jerry is basicly the father of American tattooing & a god to tattooists)
ok, so, I ordered it on 5/29 from a website that looked very reputible. The money was taken out of my account on 6/1. On the 4th I sent an email inquiring as to the status of my order. And I got this as a response:
"We'll get back with a response to your email within 24 to 48 hours, so just hang
tight."
Then on the 6th I got this:
"Hello,
I'm very sorry, the manufacturer has just told us the the size M revenge hoodies may not be in stock for a few months. We have the L or XL available. If that works for you please let me know."
To which I replied "send me a large ASAP because it is a b-day gift" and then I got this:
"We'll get back with a response to your email within 24 to 48 hours, so just hang
tight"
I didn't hear anything at all from them so I sent another query on the 13th, the day AFTER Mick' b-day and 2 weeks after I placed the order. And, again, I got the brush off email. Sooo I sent a rather terse email on the 18th telling them that I was going to raise a dispute claim with the bank. And, yup, got the same email. I called the number on the site several times during all this crap & got a recording saying "Thanks for calling blah blah blah. if you want to place an order see the website. Leave us a message or send us an email & we'll get back to you."
SOOOO today I called again & left a really harsh message. Then I called the bank & was transfered to the Dispute department... AND WAS ON HOLD FOR 20 MINUTES!!
I never even got a hold of someone! Why oh why is it sooo damn hard to get stuff done? And what the hell happened to customer service?
I'm not really sure what to do other than call the bank again & just wait till I get a hold of someone. If any of ya'll have any suggestions as to how to deal with this ridiculousness, I'd be very greatful.
Ok, now I feel much much better. I promise my next post will be much more cheery
The company is in Chicago so I may end up call the IL better business bureau or something. & here is their availailty policy posted on the site:
90% of the products we sell at FiveTone are delivered within 3 to 7 business days. On occasion we have to backorder certain items. In this case we will immediately ship the in stock items and notify you by email of any backordered items. All shipping costs associated with your order will be refunded, so shipping will be free (U.S. only).
Available sizes and colors are found in the drop down menu on the product description page.
Because most of our products are hard to find, we may not always have your size or color preference in stock. Please check back often, because we are always getting more cool stuff! If you're interested in a particular item color or size that is not available, please email us and we'll see if we can get it.

Post a CommentSometimes you can press 0 to be transferred straight to an operator. I know FedEx and some banks do it, so hopefully yours is one of them.
yeah Im with B of A and if you press 0 like Sticky said it takes you straight to an operatore
What's the website you ordered from? If you charged the item..I would call up your credit card company and put a stop payment on it. I'm concerned the site isn't reputable. I would call up the Better Business Bureau and complain..and also ask them where else you can report this "business" too.
Jess, what's B of A?
Bank of America
it is fivetone.com It seems legit & all so i figured it was ok. But I know looks can be deceiving.
I try not to use my credit card too much so I used my debit card which is why I need to deal with the bank. I check my account several times a day & there haven't been any fishy charges or anything. I just really hope I didn't do something that will seriously bite me in the ass. My mom suggested I have one of the attorneys I work for write a letter on the firm letterhead & fax it to them, as well as contacting the better business bureau.
Does anyone know if there is something on the web where you can see if online shops are rated or something?
That sucks Sasha! I work for Navy Federal and our dispute and fraud forms are actually on the website for member's to print off and fill out so you may try to do a search of your bank's site to see if you can find one. I hope that you are able to get this resolved and let me know if you need anymore advice.
to bad customer service and crummy companies!
I hate when this kind of cr*p happens!!! Hopefully you can get this settled very soon!!!
Ugh, I'm sorry that happened. I hope everything gets straightened out!
Oooh, I would be so pissed too.
Sounds to me like you are taking all of the appropriate actions. If you continue to have trouble getting through to your bank, you could try calling a branch location to get a real person. If you luck out and get someone nice, they should be able to help you.
Good luck!
Add me to the angry
too! It's so annoying that it is
so hard to talk to a real person sometimes.
Usually, if you use your debit card as a credit, they will do a chargeback. The company has so many days to dispute. I would see if they offer this option, and based on your resonses from them, they won't do crap.
I'd be pissed too if I couldn't get a hold of anyone!!

I'm sorry that I can't offer any real good advice because I'd be doing the same thing and it's really the fault of this crappy company who won't even call you back with a legitimate answer!
Faxing that letter to the company and contacting the better business bureau sounds like a good idea. I also hope you'll be able to get a hold of your bank! - and most importantly get this whole thing resolved!
Yeah I filed a complaint with the Chicago better business bureau this morning. I checked the company's report & they have a TON of complaints. All but one have been resolved so that gives a little hope. I'm not so pissed off about the money, I mean I want it back of course, but its the horrible way the company is run! I mean, come on! How do they still have a business licence?
I have SOOO learned my lesson on this one!
My bank can intiate a dispute with the company when I FIANLLY get a hold of them. I'm soo pissed at the bank, too!
Is there a way for you to send the bank a message through the online banking system Sasha?
Your posting came up in a google search I did on fivetone.com and their customer service. I wanted to see if anyone else was having problems with them and I'm kind of relieved so see I'm not the only one! I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau also---how did you go about doing that?
I ordered something from them 2 months ago (on April 20) on 2-day delivery, and it never arrived. After several unreturned phone calls and emails (I always got the "we'll contact you within 24-48 hours email, which I know is B.S.) I finally got a response a about 2 weeks AFTER its due date, in May, saying sorry, we're out of stock, but we've ordered more and your item should ship by 5/30. We'll refund all shipping costs."
That made me happy, because I wasn't in a hurry, I just wanted my shirt. But then by early June, my item still hadn't arrived, and charges were not returned to my card. I inquired again about the status of my order, and it took about a week to get a response. On June 7, I got an email saying "Your item is on backorder and will ship within 4-10 days." I responded, basically saying "yeah, you told me that a while ago--and please confirm the refund for my shipping charges." No response. Finally on June 21, I emailed and said that if I did not receive a status update by Monday, 6/25, I would like to cancel my order and get a full refund. I even told them I'd prefer to purchase the item over getting a refund, but that I'd have my credit card company retract charges if need be.
Of course no response to that, either, so I had my credit card company get involved today.
It's a shame! They have such cute clothes! I just want my shirt.
How do these people function??
boo to that!
I googled the IL better business bureau & found the chicago branch. I used my debit card (g-damit!!!) & STILL haven't had any luck with the bank. These bastards have a ton of complaints w/ the BBB. I really don't understand how they still have a business license.
I was SOOO excited to find an awesome hoodie I KNEW Mick would love. I'm just so bummed I couldn't give him a gift on his birthday. He really couldn't care less, but still!
I don't know what it takes to revoke a business license but I hope these f@ckers get theirs taken away! AARRGG!!!
Awwww that sux. I hope the fact they got back to you at all is a good sign. Best of Luck Sashak.
Any update?
No, not from Fivetone. I didn't expect one, anyway. My credit card company said I'd have my money back within a couple of days, and they'd deal with Fivetone from here on out. I wouldn't be surprised if Fivetone didn't respond to them, either. How are they still in business?
I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone in the dispute dept. of my bank this weekend. But I'll ty again tomorrow. The problem I'm having is that I have to be on hold FOREVER until "the next availalbe rep comes on the line" & I just can't be on hold for a half hour at work! DAMN this is all soo stupid! I bet some credit card company will take 'em to small claims court eventually.
I did file the complaint w/ the BBB & got an email from them saying they are working on it.
That really sucks. I had something similiar happen to me, so now I try to use Paypal as much as possible, because they guarantee your purchase and the company doesn't have your credit card (or worse, your debit card) information.
Well, I have a positive update. I reported Fivetone to my credit card company on June 25th and my credit card company returned the charges to my card. Meanwhile, they were supposed to be contacting Fivetone to handle the dispute.
Then I got an email from Fivetone on 6/29 to let me know that my order has shipped and they even provided a tracking number. What interesting timing!
Anyway, we'll see if it arrives! I hope it fits---I don't think I could tolerate having to send it back for another size. =)
For the record:
Date ordered: April 20th (for 2 day delivery)
Date supposedly shipped: June 29th
Date arrived: TBD
Me too! I FINALLY got a hold of someone in "Disputes" at my bank. They will put the money back in my account & start something with Fivetone. I told them that I filed a complaint with the BBB & they were all impressed. So at least I have my money back.
Interesting that as soon as you took money-action they responded...
Received my item today, 2 and a half months after ordering! Thank goodness it fits! I'm never dealing with Fivetone again! (So many cute clothes, too. What a shame.)
wow! thats cool. The bank gave me a "provisional refund" so at least I got my money back. It is a total shame! The stuff on the website is soo cute! I love the dresses, but I'd NEVER deal with these amatures again!
im going through the same thing i odered a pair of sun glasses ....june 19th took my money i have left them about not kidding!! 15 emails being really pist off!! and also have called all i get a mechine...
