I have a .pfd file saved on my jump drive (our invitation ! ) that I want to slightly modify (i.e. remove our last names from) but I can't figure out how to do it. I tried to save it in Paint, but no dice.
Any pearls of wisdom? On this one topic, of course

Post a CommentSCREENSHOT. PASTE INTO PAINT. MODIFY AND SAVE AS JPEG. if you don't have photoshop.
Yeah, um, how do I take a screenshot? I think Mick's Urban Amish-ness has rubbed off on me
the button on your keyboard that says PrtSc or Print Screen. (that'll copy whatever is on your screen). than in paint go up to Edit - Paste. That'll put the screenshot into paint.
If you have a laptop you might have to press down the Fn ( function key ) while you press the PrtSc key.
once you do that let me know and i will walk you through editing it.
There's a button at the top right of your keyboard that says "print screen". Hit that button, open the program you want to paste it into, and then right click, and say "paste". A little tiny picture of your screen will pop up. You crop it to what you want, edit what you don't want, save as jpeg, and voila! (Or, voici, depending on if it's here or there....that's only funny to French students.)
did it work sasha? i have screen shots once i know you got it.
YAY! Thanks ladies!! I *think* I have it all figgered out now. We shall see momentarily!
I'm pretty sure. It was the Edit- Paste part that threw me
cool! here are the screenshots in case you get stuck:
how to crop just what you want to
see
you will need to swipe a little of the background to insert new name
copy and paste that back ground selection over the
name you are replacing
how to insert a
new text box to type your new name
how to format your name, the font and color, to match the rest of the text
last but not least save your new image as a jpeg
file
Aud! That was awesome.
Aud! You are the best! I'm TOTALLY going to add this to my favys for future techno-dummy questions. Thanks!!
You could also have plugged in the flash drive, opened the file, hit "Save As" and renamed it. Then you have two copies. Close the new file, right click on the icon, and hit "Open with..." and open it in Paint. Do your thang, then hit Save. You'd still have your original, and the second, altered version. But screenies work too.
Or you could have right clicked and hit "Send to..." and chosen Desktop. That'd send it to your computer and you could play around with that copy. Still right click/"Open with..." and Paint.
